The Future of Recruiting

Updated: Oct 29, 2018

According to The Economist (2018), up to 75% of job applicants are rejected without ever having been considered by a human being. This is happening because more and more companies are implementing Applicant-Tracking Systems (ATS) in their recruitment process. This software works by scanning your CV/ Resume for key words associated with the job requirements (The Economist 2018). But why the sudden shift to a more automated recruitment process?

Well, what if I told you that just two years ago Goldman Sachs received a quarter of a million applications from students? That’s three full grown Pine trees worth of paper! Now imagine somebody asks you to read each and every one of those pieces of paper carefully and attentively. What a crazy request that would be, right?

Sadly, that’s what recruiters face on a daily basis, from the moment they step into their office to the time they get out. At the end of the day, these are normal people, who have targets to reach and can’t be expected to reasonably process that amount of information in the short time span that it is given to them. So that’s where technology comes in!

But what does that mean for job applicants? Well, according to The Economist (2018), you should use the wording of the job description in your CV as it contains many of the key words that ATS will be looking for. You should also make sure that all the skills and experience on your LinkedIn profile match your CV, as this is used as a second check of your qualifications (The Economist 2018).

ATS is changing the recruitment process and making it difficult for qualified applicants to get past the first hurdle. But that’s where JobClinic comes in! Our software analyses your CV for key words mentioned in your chosen job description, the same way a recruiter’s ATS would. Not only this, but your CV is also compared to the LinkedIn profiles of individuals who are in the job you’re applying for, giving you that added advantage to get into the top 25%. The process takes a matter of seconds and once it is complete, you get detailed feedback on what works in your CV and what needs to be improved. In terms of your online presence (which recruiters look at too!), JobClinic displays a quick snapshot of your social media pages along with those of individuals in your chosen company, making it clear what the recruiters will be looking for.

So, with that said, what are you waiting for? JobClinic is launching on the 1st of March 2019 and you can pre-register today. Feel like that’s a long time to wait? Well, any of our customers who purchase a subscription before December 25th will get exclusive access to our service, one month before anyone else! And that’s not all.
